Recycling Your Electricals

Give your old electricals a second life

Old chargers, cables and gadgets don't belong in the bin. Recycle them for free at your local recycling centre. Just enter your postcode at Recycle More to find the nearest one.

Why it matters

Electrical waste is the UK's fastest growing type of waste. Many items can be repaired, reused or recycled, which keeps valuable materials in use. Electricals can also contain hazardous substances. Sent to landfill, these can leak into soil and water and harm wildlife and human health. That's why electricals always need to be collected separately from your household waste.

What is WEEE?

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. The UK WEEE Regulations make sure these items are collected separately and processed in an environmentally friendly way.

Spot the symbol

See a crossed-out wheeled bin on a product or its packaging? It means the item can't go in your household bin. Take it to a collection point for electricals instead, so it can be recycled properly.

What's covered

Anything with a plug, battery or cable, like our wireless charging modules, charging mounts and cables. Cases and mounts without electronics aren't part of the scheme, so just follow your local council's guidelines for those.

Our part

We're a member of the Distributor Take-Back Scheme (DTS). Through it, we help fund the UK's network of local authority recycling centres, so more electrical waste gets reused, recycled and recovered. That's what lets you recycle your old electricals free of charge. There's no need to send anything back to us, just drop it off at your nearest participating centre.
